Hulhumalé~ The City of Hope

Hulhumalé is located 8 km off the North East coast of Malé, the capital city of Maldives and 6.5 km from Velana International Airport, Hulhulé Hulhumalé grew through the conjuring up of land from a lagoon situated in Hulhulé, the main International hub of Maldives. As Hulhumalé was developed as an expansion of Malé City, situated in Hulhulé lagoon, a combined name was given- Hulhumalé. Introduction to the Gambia Airport Logistics Free Trade Zone Project of ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States)

The ECOWAS Gambia Airport Logistics Free Trade Zone is mainly oriented to the West African region, especially the markets of ECOWAS member states.

  1. In 1975, 15 West African countries signed the “Economic Community of West African States Treaty” and formally established the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS (abbreviated as ECOWAS);
  2. At present, the largest regional economic cooperation organization in Africa, with a total area of ​​5.27 million square kilometers of member countries, accounting for more than 1/6 of the total area of ​​Africa, and a population of 250 million, accounting for nearly 1/3 of the total population of Africa;
  3. At present, ECOWAS has 12 official member states, including Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa and the largest economy.
  4. Its purpose is to promote the economic, social and cultural development and cooperation of member states, improve people’s living standards, strengthen mutual relations, and contribute to the progress and development of Africa. The ultimate goal is to achieve economic integration in West Africa. Realize currency integration in 2020.

The Gambian government is preparing to establish the West African Gambia Airport Logistics Free Trade Zone in the capital Banjul. The free trade zone will be based on the development of the country’s economy, promote domestic trade, face the West Africa region, radiate the European and American markets and the entire African continent, and strive to build the free trade zone into a free trade zone. The free trade zone with the most investment value makes it a model for the construction of a free trade zone in the entire African region.

After the project is completed and put into operation, it will gradually form a large-scale comprehensive international business service center that focuses on commodity wholesale and supplements retail, and integrates business, office, leisure shopping, tourism, culture and entertainment. At the same time, it will also be used for residents’ leisure, shopping, tourism and sightseeing. A good place, a new highlight of tourism and leisure culture.

According to the plan, the Gambia Free Trade Zone will be built into a comprehensive special economic zone integrating bonded warehousing, trade and logistics, merchandise display, wholesale and retail, and leisure, tourism and culture.
